Week 30 - 13th to 18th November 2017 - Roof and stone walls

 We're working on four fronts this week: Stone wall (we started on 13 October, so this is month two, and we'll continue for the next two months at least); sabina beams for the windows set in the stone walls; roof tiles and parapets; and internal rendering. The underfloor heating system is ordered and on its way, as are all the bathroom fittings.

Some of the sabina lintels I've made. I've been harvesting straight branches form our land,

stripping the bark, cleaning and cutting to length.

The rasillas were delivered last week and are being laid.

Mohamed continues with the stone walls.

Here he's building the stone lintel above one of the guest bedroom doors.

As of Tuesday 14th November, all but a few of the ceilings have been rendered.

We'll start on walls in a few days.

Window frames are in for the North side windows. The one on the left is the guest bathroom, tilt-and-turn, hence different frame.

I call it landscaping. Sally calls it hauling stuff to a skip.

Rasillas set. The darker ones have been soaking in water, the lighter ones are dry. Eventually they should all be the same!

Skylight is rendered, makes a huge difference to the light coming in.
