April 2019 - finishing touches in house, and work on landscaping

I go back on the 4th of April, and Sally joins me on the 17th for the week around Easter. She is unlucky, the weather in Formentera is lousy that week, while the UK basks in sunshine. We finish a ton of small jobs, from fitting bathroom mirrors and towel rails to laying anti-weed membrane and gravel around the house, making a new access road and finishing the kitchen.

Wild flowers (aka weeds) have grown crazy around the terrace and pool.

So, first job is to clear and prepare for anti weed membrane.

And then spreading the gravel, some using the Baby Cat, but mostly with wheelbarrow and spade. Got help from a couple of lovely Colombians.

We also spread 20 tons of gravel on the drive, and filled a large container with weeds and branches.

As I was doing the gravel around the house, decided to get the access road done as well.

First we graded ...  

then rolled coarse gravel to get it level, ...

...then several truck loads of crushed stone...

... then more grading, wetting and rolling ...

... and now we have a smooth access camino to the house.

Inside, I fit ceiling lights in the garage, as well as many wall lights in and out ...

... bathroom cabinets, mirrors, towel rails, loo roll holders ...

... clothes rails (hand made by Sally) ...

... kitchen pelmets ...

... guitar holders...

 ... blinds ...

... curtain rails.

Insulated the solar hot water feeds.

Terrace now usable!

I have a few more jobs lined up:  gravel to spread, a stone wall to build, plants to plant, and a few trivial internal jobs, then we can sit back and really enjoy Casa Sally. Come on May!
