Week 26 - That's half a year! 16 to 21 October 2017 - Externals and electrics

Busy week with an average of eight guys on site much of the time. Stone wall is going up, rest of house is covered in nylon mesh and we've started the rendering. There will be at least two coats. Inside, electric ducts are being laid, then cemented in. We finish putting in all door and window frames apart from those where the external wall will be stone; electric switch and socket boxes are all in, all ducting is in (apart from a few small bits outside), and we finish final bits of plumbing.

We might call the house 'Casa Blobby' ?  The south wall has first coat of render over nylon mesh stuck on with 'blobs' of plaster. 

Stone wall is growing steadily. Door frame for bedroom patio door has been extended outward to support stone inlays (those funny looking blocks). Cable ducts are ready for wall lights.

... and on Friday afternoon, nearly up to the windows.

Patio electric ducts laid and cemented in. Two are for low lights in the low stone walls around the patio (yet to be built), two for the wall lights, two are for power to septic tank and garden lights, two are for phone and broadband. Mohamed in background chipping stones.

End of a busy week. Not shown, but we have also pruned the pines and junipers in front of the house and filled one container. More to come... Also have chosen lights for path lighting, will be ordered on Monday so that recessed cases can be built in to stone and rendered walls.

The comms mast on Cap de Barbara has stopped working. We are totally cut off at the house, no mobile signal at all, can only get slow and sporadic internet access from a few local bars. Fun!
