Week 27 - 23 to 28 October 2017 - Render, terrace, stone.

Good start to the week. The weather is perfect for cement work, about 20 degrees, and still and dry. Slow drying means fewer cracks...
The goal this week is to continue with the external rendering, continue building the stone walls (they will take many weeks, maybe 8 or 10?), and start the terracing.

The patio walls are prepared for render with nylon webbing.

Almost all the parapets are formed, just a few remain.  

When the 'rasillas' are down (the roof tiles), 

then parapets will be rendered again with a softer cement mix.

More soft sand delivered, and another load of raw stones for the stonework.

Decided on the 'rasilla blanca' for the roof. It's like the one above, but we're going for a slightly bigger one. The lower tile is a 'mallorquin', decided it was too pink and too big to work with.

Trenches dug and reinforcement iron made up and set in.
This is for the retaining wall for the terrace.

Concrete laid, levelled with laser, ready for concrete blocks.

Same for pool terrace.

Sun setting on the stone wall, roughly laid around patio door (this will be underground: the terrace will come up to the level of the door, marked with the string).

Start on extended stone wall. Again, just rough foundation, we'll use better stone above ground.

Just as a slight departure from house building, these cute narcissus sprouted a few days ago, a whole forest of them...

Saturday morning, the weather has changed, a bit of cloud and possibility of rain.
The stairs and front door all rendered.

The lower two or three courses will be underground, hence the rough look.
