The roof was finished on Tuesday 28th November, with the exception of the expansion joints, and of course the parapets that will be rendered when the rest of the exterior is done. It rained overnight that day, so we had a real live test of the roof's performance. All is well.
The sabina lintels are now in above all three windows in the stone wall on the guest side, and stonework continues above them. The west facade is up to full height.
We started rendering the internal walls. We're experimenting with white cement / sharp sand render as well as different grey cement renders.
Work will slow down from next week onwards: 5 December is a big day down here (Saint Nicolas day), ferries from the mainland are fewer and the weather is poor meaning delays in deliveries, and some of our workmen are taking leave over the coming holiday period.
On 7 December I receive three photos from Bill: The stonework is done on the north end of the house!

Preparing walls for rendering, with nylon web over joins between blocks, bricks and reinforced concrete, to reduce possible cracking when they dilate/contract at different rates.

The roof is just about done and performed well in last night's rain. No leaks, no puddles, rain harvesting good.
The drain and parapets will be rendered when the externals walls are done, probably not till early Spring.

... and the stone wall is growing above them. Should be done by the end of this week (2 December), and then we'll start on the other stone walls. This picture was on 28 November.
The West facade and column to support the pergola beams are both finished. I love the stonework!
Other jobs are progressing at the same time. This is one of the recessed thermostatic valves for the showers.

East façade. Mo(hamed) in the photo has started on the stone wall behind him. The footings are just visible lower left, and the guide poles are in place, slightly inclined inwards as with the finished wall. The patio will also be surrounded by a low stone wall.
