Week 70 - 13 to 19 August - Also catch up for two previous weeks (31 July and 6 August)

I fly back to Formentera after Antonio calls to say the house is pretty much finished and can he go ahead and fill the pool?  We agree that we'll delay the pool till the week of 20 August when the plumber is back from holidays and can take me through all the controls.

This is what has been done while I was away.

Rough landscaping is complete all around the house, 

and all remaining builders materials have been removed. 

The bags on the terrace are the salt for the pool electrolysis system.

Terrace is clean, all external recessed lights are in.

Front of house, earth is levelled.

All three bathrooms are plumbed in. Master bathroom.

Cloakroom (aseo)

Guest bathroom.

Solar water heater, and skylight.

 Living room: all clean, downlighters are in, wood burner is installed, all woodwork is oiled.

Living room again, with iroko shelves.

Recessed garden lights are all installed. This is the north-east patio.

Polished concrete floor in garage, boiler and heat pump (the latter not plumbed in yet).

Found some extra pipes and floats in the pool overflow basin...

And also extra bits at the cistern exit.

Shelves loaded with Ikea goodies.

Spent Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday building kitchen units. Start fitting tomorrow.

Thursday, units are fixed in and level. Now  start on internal fittings, doors,
appliances (all delivered on Friday).

Friday: Massive rainstorm, 50 litres per square meter (50 mm).
House survived, cistern is overflowing...

Saturday, more thunderstorms and lots of rain.
The island and the trees are loving it. Tourists? not so sure.

Doesn't stop me working on the kitchen though.

Good end of week. Next week promises to be great as well. The forecast is for superb weather, the kitchen should be finished apart from the counter tops that need to be ordered, the pool will be filled, all plumbing will be finished.
