Week 17 - (14 to 19 August 2017) - Internal insulation and walls

The boys have run out of 'arlita' (more on order) so have moved inside. Finish the brickwork in the master bathroom, do the brickwork in the 'guest wing' and living room. Some of it is pretty straightforward, but some of it is quite tricky and involves a lot of cutting for angles around doorways.

Sunday 13 August

Sally and I played around with kitchen designs, using insulation plates that happen to measure 60 cms by 120, just perfect.

Monday 14 August

Internal brickwork in bathroom.

Positioning a 'nicho' in the shower, a recess for shampoo bottles, all carefully measured!

Wednesday 16 August

Lintel above bedroom 1 patio door. Cast concrete, framing still on.

Lintel for master internal bathroom door. Made of ladrillos, iron and concrete.

Start on one of the living room built-in shelf units. Cast concrete shelves.

Guest bathroom wall done. This is from the bedroom side,
 which will house a large wardrobe.

Shopping list for this week.
4 pallets of arlita (ceramic beads for roof forming),
300 square metres of insulation,
20 bags of quick setting cement,
300 square meters of roof insulation,
70 square meters of 9 x 20 x 30 ladrillos (bricks)
.....

House as it is at the end of the day. The roof line will be taken up a bit,
and rounded off, all in cast concrete.

Shuttering built for 'petos' (parapet) top.

Concrete poured and formed on 'petos'.

First of two deliveries! Arlita, insulation, ladrillos. Next week's work!
