Most supporting struts have been removed in the living area
and we can start seeing what the living room will look like.

the opening on right is window to kitchen (also sliding into the wall).

On Friday, the boys start on the interior. First a light skim of cement on the concrete block walls to seal any small gaps, then 'corcho', which means cork but is in fact 3 cm thick polystyrene insulation. Then will come a layer of fairly thin 'ladrillos', the terra cotta bricks they use down here, with an air gap between them and the insulation layer. Then render and paint, eventually. Plumbing and electric ducting will be cut into the ladrillos as needed.

The rectangular 'hole' is where we'll have a recessed niche for shelving.
To the right of the 'niche-to-be' is an evacuation pipe for the underfloor airflow
through the 'cavitis'. This will be hidden by the brickwork.
