Week 49 - 26 to 31 March 2018 - Tile the pool.

Beautiful start to the week: bright sunshine, light breeze, clear skies. Start on the pool tiles, first the steps and then the pool proper. We also build a raised manhole for the pool electrics and lights, a concrete platform for the heat pump, and take delivery of the stainless steel banister, gate and chimney struts, as well as the wood burner.

Pool steps have been tiled.

Monday, start on tiling the pool walls.
Lots of cutting to accommodate water pipes and light fittings.

By Thursday we've waterproofed the overflow basin.

And we've waterproofed the pool floor. Walls are tiled.

On Friday we've tiled half the pool floor.
Some fairly complicated geometry around the drain in the centre of the pool,

Steps and bench just need a few more small cut tiles.

End of the week (we worked Good Friday and Saturday), and the pool is sooo close to being finished. Just a few floor tiles and some detailing.

Next week we will finish tiling the pool and then grout. Also will start on the overflow basin, finish the terrace and work on the manholes around the pool (for electrics, pool heating, pool lights). End of another good week.
